It's sturdy. From picture it looks as if it's single piece. But the grid portion is separately joined. Nevertheless it's useful. Thing to mention is the picture is deceiving.

Correct fit with the sink matters. Edge of the mesh is bent downwards. If the drain hole is in line with sink, then water will pool around the seive. It worked for 2 of 3 sinks in which i tried. In short, defenitely give a try but you may have to return the product.

Some products exceed your expectations, this is one of those products. The measurements were just right for my sink. It makes a flush fit with the sink - all food residue gets collected in the strainer. It's very easy to scoop out the waste. Water flow doesn't get affected by this strainer. I hope it's rust proof. As of now, there's no sign of rusting. Good product.

This sink strainer is high quality SS, very sturdy, holes are just big enough to let veg paste get through unlike thick mesh options. It completely covers the whole drain inlet n sturdy to not move while using. Awesome👍. Thank you for the design.

This particular sink drain has a very small height and hence I had to look for one with a small height and it was almost impossible to find one. The one that originally came with the sink is not useful . Finally found this product and
